here are some more people fighting for liberation
(and they’ll be at the show)

QUEERING THE DISTRICT
Queering the District Podcast explores the role, history, and stories “third places” have held across time for the Queer community in Washington, D.C. Season one journeyed from the 1920s to the present day to see how bars in the District have helped build Queer community. You hear from Queer elders, academic experts, and even that one drunk friend leaving a voicemail in their favorite bar as they share the stories of Queer folks who have and continue to gather in defiance, solidarity, and celebration across D.C.
DCA Bodily Autonomy Working Group
The Bodily Autonomy Working Group fights for queer, trans, and feminist liberation and against systems of patriarchal capitalist oppression that devalue women and LGBTQIA+ people, under the guidance of Reproductive Justice. We organize for the democratization of domestic and care work, political and social liberation for all genders, full bodily autonomy for all, and the end of state recognition of the gender binary.
We fight for material improvements in the lives of working class people who are marginalized on the basis of gender and sexuality, including reproductive justice, access to gender-affirming and LGBTQIA+ competent healthcare, affordable housing, legal protections for all gender identities, especially transgender children and BIPOC trans comrades, sex work decriminalization, and an end to state interference and police harassment. In short, we demand nothing less than power over our own lives.
HEAD COUNT
One in ten eligible voters – and one in four Gen Z voters – identify as LGBTQIA+. For some, there are barriers that make it harder to register to vote and cast their ballot. HeadCount is here to help you use your voice.
SEX WORKERS ADVOCACY COALITION (SWAC)
SWAC DC is a Black trans sex worker and trafficking survivor-led organization rooted in mutual aid and collective care. We are fighting for the full decriminalization of consensual sex exchange and the rights, lives, and dignity of sex workers, trafficking survivors, and people profiled as sex workers in Washington, DC.
